Test Taking Strategies

Assessments are an important part of learning. No matter what program you go into, you will have to demonstrate the knowledge you have gained through assessments. This could be a test, quiz, exam, final, presentations, or any other fancy word describing a demonstration of knowledge.

Many students have been taught that these assessments are permanent markers that will determine our future. It is, however, important to keep perspective of context. Assessments are not these big scary monsters, but rather an opportunity for you to show off all the things you have learned.

Keeping this idea in mind here are some test taking tips, study strategies, and techniques to prepare your self for any assessment.

Remember all of these are suggestions. Pick and choose the ones that work for you and discard the ones that do not. Have an open mind do not be afraid to try something new.
